Product Details

Henri Georges Jean Isidore Meunier, known as Henri Meunier, was a Belgian artist born on July 25, 1873, in Ixelles, and passed away on September 8, 1922, in Brussels. He was a prominent figure in the Art Nouveau movement and was known for his work as a lithographer, etcher, illustrator, bookbinder, and poster designer during the Belle Époque. Meunier was the son of etcher Jean-Baptiste Meunier and received his initial training in his father's workshop before studying at the academy in Ixelles. His style was characterized by the use of flat colors and thick outlines, influenced by Japanese prints, which resulted in powerful images. He contributed many lithographs to L'Estampe Moderne, a series of 24 monthly portfolios of original lithographs published from 1897 to 1898.
